CHRISTMAS TAG QUESTIONS :
1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG?
ANS: JINGLE BELL” – Chorus: Jingle bells. Jingle bells. Jingle all the way. Oh, what fun. It is to ride. In a one-horse open sleigh…..” Believe it or not Jingle Bells, one of the most famous American Christmas songs, was originally written for Thanksgiving, but the sleigh bells in the Jingle Bells music made the song popular at Christmas! The author and composer of Jingle Bells was a minister called James Pierpont who composed the song in 1857 for children celebrating his Boston Sunday School Thanksgiving. The song was so popular that it was repeated at Christmas, and indeed the Jingle Bells song has been reprised ever since.
2. What is your favorite Christmas film?
ANS: Home Alone
Director: Chris Columbus
Starring: Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci , Daniel Stern, Catherine O’Hara, John Heard
Basically a live-action cartoon with a John Hughes script, Home Alone may not be big or even clever but it’s a lot of fun and, in its own way, emphasizes the importance of love and family just as much as It’s A Wonderful Life. As in Capra’s tale, being deprived of family and safety makes little tyke Macaulay Culkin realize how much he needs them, and fending off burglars all alone gives him a unique appreciation of the Christmas spirit. Also, he gets to drop a hot iron on someone’s face, so that’s nice.
3. When do you start feeling festive?
ANS: This season is often expected with tremendous optimism, and unnecessary anxiety. For me, I start feeling it from 1st day of December when most media, particularly the radio stations start blasting Christmas songs, and decorations both by state Governments of public places and private homes becomes evident. “Oh! So its xmass already”, I often would exclaim. The weather too is a reminder that that soon it will be Christmas time.
4. What is the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?
ANS: The Christmas Basket of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2015.
5. What is the worst Christmas present you’ve ever received?
ANS: hahaha, I don’t remember. I count all gifts precious and given out of love, even the make shift Christmas cards by my children when they were younger. I value them so much, as much as the printed cards by hallmark.
6. Have you ever been on a Christmas holiday? If so where? If not, where would you like to go?
ANS: I remember that I have had Christmas holidays with my parents when I first travelled with my dad to the USA. I also had my best Christmas holiday when I took my Children to Jos, Nigeria. Or was it not during Christmas? You can recall that for me please. (It was after Christmas day but still in December 😀 )
7. Do you prefer going out or staying in at Christmas?
ANS: it is very traditional with me that I stay in on 25th of December rather than staying out. But it’s not a rule cast in iron.
8. Who cooks Christmas meals?
ANS: The best Cook I know, my wife, Mary.
9. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
ANS: I Like receiving gifts better. But I bother a lot to reciprocate.
10. What is your favorite thing to do to get you in the Christmas spirit?
ANS: Decorations of the home and playing Christmas carols.
11. When do you start Christmas shopping?
ANS: MOSTLY FEW WEEKS TO 25TH DECEMBER.
12. What is your favorite Christmas food?
ANS: Rice in any form, but Edesi ikong (native jollof rice) rocks it all….lol
13. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
14. Most memorable Holiday moments?
ANS: When I have the chance to meet with my loved ones, particularly my family
15. What makes the holidays special for you?
