Hi guys and welcome to The Ash Tree Journal!
Without further ado, let’s get into today’s post: How to effortlessly drink more water!
We have definitely all heard of the benefits of staying hydrated, but this topic can never be over emphasized.
Water is the most important aspect of our day to day nutrition, it helps keep you hydrated, which is important because every single cell in your body needs it in order to absorb nutrients and expel waste products.
Did you know, that you can die faster from dehydration than starvation or lack of sleep?
You can be dead within 3 days of not drinking water. That’s just to show how important water is.
I’m going to share 5 easy ways to incorporate (more) water into your daily life. Read along for more.
. GET A NEW WATER BOTTLE.
And a fancy one too, if you can.
If you like your water bottle, it’s more likely that you’ll like to drink a lot from it. Let the contents be water though.
. SPICE IT UP!
Alright, I know a lot of people do not like the taste of water. How about making it taste better by slicing up your favorite fruits and infusing them into your water? A slice of lemon is my go to every time. You could chop up cucumbers & berries and add it to the mix as well. This even provides you with more nutrients cause fruits are good for your health too!

. SET A REMINDER
If you find that your lack of constant water consumption is from the fact that you always forget to, set a reminder to take a glass at intervals, let’s say every hour, or two hours. In this way, when you’re on your busy schedule, you can always remember to stay hydrated!
.MAKE IT A HABIT
A great way to get more water into your routine is to associate it with a common habit you have. For instance, one of the ways I made water my bestie is to take a half glass of water after every bathroom break. We all take bathroom breaks, so imagine how much water you could get into your system with this habit.
.MAKE IT FUN
Make it fun, join a challenge online. You can keep up with how many glasses you’ve finished and challenge yourself to drink more than before. This can be easy (and fun) with the help of a free app as well.
Extras :
Drink as soon as you wake up.
Dilute sugary drinks with ice and water.
Eat water rich foods
Stay hydrated while you exercise
Feel like you’re hungry? Maybe you’re just thirsty. Drink a glass of water first.
Drink water on your nights out, use the 1:1 rule, which basically means that for each cocktail or alcoholic drink, take a glass of water. It helps so much to avoid a nasty hangover the next morning. If this is too difficult in big groups at parties, make sure 2 hours before you go home you drink plenty of water to avoid being dehydrated the next day. -Don’t say I didn’t tell ya 😉
The Benefits Of Drinking Water :
- Your skin will thank you.
- You will lose weight faster.
- It gets your digestive system clean -keeps bowels moving.
- Increases metabolism in the body.
- Boosts your immune system.
- Saves money- Water is free! Even in restaurants and cafes, where its safe to drink tap water, you can always ask for tap water and there you go!
So lovelies, these are the few ways I love to integrate water into my routine, and it’s one of my favorite drinks.
Now it’s your turn, do you have ways you drink more water, let me know in the comment section!

The first tip definetely works! Also I found that the bigger the water bottle, the more I drink. I currently have a 1litre water bottle and I go through so many in a day.
