“Choose your friends wisely.”

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about this topic ” friendship”, and what it means to me. Who exactly is a friend?

I believe, that a friend is someone we bring close to us, letting them in on our personal space, knowing the differences between us and our lives but still accepting them and forming a close relationship with each other.

The bible says in Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

To be quite honest here, a lot of the drama we have in our lives is caused by having people ‭around us, that are not meant to be…around us. Having the wrong associations with people.

I have learnt that there are so many types of people around us, and whether we want to be aware of it or not, these people have an impact on our lives, one way or the other. Being able to separate these people may take a lot of strength, wisdom and knowledge of the fact that everyone in our lives has a significant role to play.

Growing up, I have had a lot of people in my life occasionally being there, knowing me and then just disappearing after some time. I believed that friendships were not made to last, everyone had a role to play in my life and I had to learn that sometimes, when that scene is over, I have to let go.

Success and failure in life comes from our associations. You and I , everything we do hinges on the people we have around us. It is said that “he that walks with wise men, shall be wise…and a companion of fools shall be destroyed”

I have been stung many times now to know that not everyone in my life has my best interest at heart, and this prompted me to write this short form of advice….lets be careful of the energy and the people we allow to come into our life, because in the end we only have ourselves and can only give account for ourselves in every situation.

Then again, if you have that friend that is like a brother or sister, appreciate them. Those kind of friends are so rare these days. I honestly appreciate my awesome friends who have stuck with me, as annoying as I sometimes may be  (lol) and this is always the good and amazing part of friendships, those who turn into family.

Much love, everyone. xx
